Microneedling

What is microneedling with platelet rich plasma (PRP)?

Microneedling with platelet rich plasma (a.k.a. Vampire Facial), is a non-surgical skin rejuvenation therapy in which tiny needles create micro tissue damage, triggering growth factor and the wound-healing cascade. Neovascularization (blood vessel formation) and neocollagenesis (collagen production) are stimulated while the needles mechanically break down undesirable tissue.

PRP, a blood cell derived high platelet concentration solution (platelet rich plasma) harvested from the patient’s own blood, is then applied to skin, c. The epidermis (top skin layer) is preserved in Microneedling with PRP which lessens recovery time and side effects.

PRP therapy is a type of autologous platelet rich plasma cell therapy in which blood components (like red blood cells and platelets) are separated to create a solution with the beneficial effects of augmenting natural healing. Platelet rich plasma therapy is used in soft tissue concerns seen in plastic surgery, but also in numerous other sports injuries, tendon injuries, and muscle injuries.
